Which is the best credit card for air miles in Singapore?

Each bank has their own credit card that aims to attract frequent flyers. These are highly sought after clients as they have a tendency to spend more both locally and overseas. Here is a comparison on some of the credit cards offering from various banks for attracting this group. Comments are welcome and i will gladly add in more cards for comparison upon request.


DBS Altitude Amex Card
This card provides rewards as DBS points that can be exchange for both air miles and other gifts that are available through the DBS rewards website.

Spending

First $1000 of spending per month, $5 = 3 DBS points
For all spending above $1000 per month, $5 = 4 DBS points
The points will never expire.

Air Miles Rewards

2000 DBS = 4000 KrisFlyer miles
2000 DBS points = 4000 Asia Miles

Effectively,
For the first $1000 per month, $1 = 1.2  air miles
For spending excess of $1000 per month, $1 = 1.6 air miles

To convert, you will need to

• Enroll in DBS Frequent Flyer Programme for $42.80 per year. This allows you to convert unlimited times within the enrollment period.
• Exchange in blocks of 2000 DBS points.

This card awards CitiMiles and can only be used to exchange to air miles or travel related expenses.
